Kenya & Colombia Orthodox Mission 2026
Missions of Love and Hope (MOLAH) is beginning the new year by supporting Orthodox communities in Kenya and Columbia, offering hands-on help, faith-based teaching, and essential resources to those in need.
Kenya
Missionaries: Ted & Eleni Karamatskos
Following the Colombia trip, Ted and Eleni will travel to Loitokitok, Kenya, to serve the YISCOG Rescue Centre, which cares for 52 children ages 2–18. Their work will include:

Providing essential items such as clothing, food, and school supplies

Supporting daily care for the children

Teaching agricultural skills to help the community grow its own food

Assisting with spiritual formation and educational development
- Installing icons for 50 Churches
The orphanages depend heavily on outside donations and missionary support to meet their daily needs.
Colombia
Missionary: Ted Karamatskos
In December, Ted will travel to St. Athanasios Orthodox Church in Cereté, Colombia, to:

Install locally printed icons and liturgical imagery

Teach about the Orthodox faith and the meaning of the icons

Support parish education and outreach

Strengthen the spiritual life of a growing Orthodox community
Many parishes in Colombia are still developing and rely on missionary support to deepen their understanding of the faith. MOLAH’s work helps build a strong foundation for their spiritual growth.

Many Orthodox communities in Colombia and Kenya lack basic resources, liturgical items, and educational support. By offering practical help—alongside spiritual teaching—MOLAH works to strengthen parish life, support vulnerable children, and help each community grow in faith and self-sufficiency.
