MISSIONS OF LOVE AND HOPE
News Update
Kenya & Pascha 2026
As we enter the season of Pascha, we are reminded of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice and His call to serve others with humility and love. This is a time not only of celebration, but of reflection—an opportunity to give back to those in need, just as He did.
Through missions like this, we seek to carry that calling forward: to serve, to support, and to share the Good News with the world. In doing so, we hope to lead others toward the truth, beauty, and fullness of the Orthodox faith.
TRULY A MISSION OF
LOVE AND HOPE
The creation of Missions of Love and Hope, a(501c3 charity) began after I, Theodoros Karamatskos, was invited by Archbishop Nikiforos to visit the Republic of Congo, to help and see the needs of the indigenous people of the Congo. I spent three weeks with Him. His invitation sparked my interest in missionary work, and I later connected with the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) and participated in short term mission trips to Guatemala and Kenya. My wife, Eleni and I participated in a two-week mission trip to Nuevo Concepcion, Guatemala, where we worked to rehab a building, and create a medical clinic. We both found missionary work very exciting and personally rewarding.
Support Our Ongoing
Projects and Missions
Since 2012, by the grace of God, our mission has brought faith, hope, and love to communities in Africa and Latin America. We have delivered sacred items for worship, built baptismal fonts and churches, installed thousands of holy icons, and provided vestments, shoes, and clothing for orphans. Beyond spiritual care, we have helped families grow food, taught construction techniques, and supported children’s education—laying foundations for both faith and daily life.
Our work continues, and every prayer and contribution helps us reach more communities in need. Together, we can continue building churches, strengthening parishes, and uplifting those most vulnerable.
